| I came to Williams school from Germany in the third grade, and except
for misspelling "Elepfant" my first week in Mrs. Stuart's class, I have good memories
of being accepted there. After Warren Junior High and Newton North, I spent my senior
year of high school in Geneva, Switzerland. There I attended a Swiss "Collège"
and learned how to speak real French, not just the vocabulary out of "le petit Prince."
It was a tough and lonesome year, but I learned a lot about looking at the world from
a perspective other than a purely American one. This launched me in the direction of
travel and languages, and during my junior year of college I studied in Aix-en-Provence,
France. In addition to the tantalizing smells and tastes of the Provence, I fell under
the spell of a beautiful, soccer-playing North African. In 1981 I graduated from Brown University and then returned to Europe: this time to southern Germany. I lived in the Black Forest town of Freiburg, which is in a corner of Germany bordered by both Switzerland and France. A half-hour train ride could take you a whole language, culture and cuisine away. Thereafter I lived in Paris for a year, working occasionally as private secretary to a very charming and worldly French gentleman. These were fabulous times, and I did not worry much about a career. Finally I returned to the Boston area where everyone in my immediate family had settled down. But I haven't stopped traveling. Some of the places I've been include Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire, Haiti, Cuba and Tunisia. In the late '80s I became a student again, earning a Master's degree from the School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vermont. Now I work as a caption editor in the Media Access department of WGBH-TV. It's a job that allows you to learn something new every single day - while getting paid. Although all this traveling, learning and work has been fulfilling, the best thing of all happened to me in the year 2000, when my daughter Jamila was born. She has two German grandparents, a grandma from Jamaica and a grandpa from Barbados. I'm raising her bilingually, and she is, in every way imaginable, the sunshine of my life.

| After graduating from NNHS in 1976, I headed to UMass in Amherst. There, I played varsity field hockey and enjoyed the fast moving four years. I left UMass with a physical education degree and went north to St. Johnsbury, Vt. and taught high school for two years. My next four years I lived in sunny Florida and had a wonderful time in the sun. I taught at a private school in the town of Gulf Stream, a pre-school to grade eight. Gulf Stream is just below West Palm Beach and very near Boca Raton. My sister Deb is working there presently with her husband. After a brief six months in Virginia and 1 1/2 years teaching in South Hadley MA. I wound up on Cape Cod. I am presently teaching in Wellfleet Elementary School and loving it. During my first four years on the Cape, I also was a police officer. My husband was my partner on the job and is now my life partner. I have one daughter who is 9 and is named Samantha. I also have four step children who are grown. One of them has made me a grandmother three times over. Lastly, along with teaching physical education, I am also an Independent Beauty Consultant for Mary Kay cosmetics. | ||

| After 6th grade, my family moved to Weston. During high school, which I barely made
it through, I built and flew a biplane
hang glider with Matt Antonellis. After a year at Northeastern and a year off
living in Seattle, I went back to school and graduated
with a BFA (computer graphics) from Mass. College of Art, where I later taught and ran the computer
lab. I spent 5 years at Agfa/Compugraphic and 8 years at Apple Computer (moving to California),
doing font and font tools R&D. I am now doing website development consulting
for several commercial sites, including the
Santa Clara County Fire Department, for whom I am also a volunteer firefighter. I am a donor father
to a 15-year old boy, Jamie Campbell, living in Everett, WA. My hobbies include reading (SF, Sherlock Holmes, history, science), collecting comic books, music, working on my Mac, and cooking.

| After graduation from NNHS class of '76, I attended (the now defunct) Boston State college. I've traveled extensively through Europe and the Caribbean Islands. I found my calling in the realm of chefdom and worked as Chef/Manager at a variety of Boston establishments. While living North of Boston, I graduated from the Essex Agricultural & Technical Institute with a double major in Food Science and Human Nutrition. I live in Randolph, MA with 3 charming cats and a most charming man named John. He has 2 children, Lauren and Jeffrey. We share a passion for the arts, nature in all its glory and frequently hike and camp. I'm currently a volunteer and part time employee of the Blue Hill Observatory, in Milton, MA. www.bluehill.org. | ||
